Scholarships

Unless otherwise noted, all of the following scholarship applications are available in the High School Counseling Office

MEA Scholarship

Must graduate from a Michigan public high school and plan on attending a four-year college, a community college or vocational school. Application deadline is February 12, 2010.

Bay Commitment Scholarship

$2000 award. Must be a first generation student (neither parent nor legal guardian has obtained a Bachelor's Degree), be a resident of Bay County for 6 years, have attended Bay county public high school/s for 4 years, meet all high school graduation requirements and receive a diploma from a Bay County public high school by June 2010, attend either Delta College or SVSU, and submit an application and essay by March 1, 2010. Those interested need to contact Mrs. Perrou at the high school.

Michigan Oil & Gas Producers Education Foundation

Five $500 awards. Must be a senior with a minimum GPA pf 3.0 or higher, plan to pursue a degree and career in an energy related field, show financial need, and be accepted at a Michigan university or community college. Applications located in Counseling Office or online at www.mogpef.org Application deadline is April 1, 2010.

Nathan Weidner Scholarship

$1500 renewable award. Must be a 2010 high school graduate, have a 2.0 GPA or higher, plan to be a full time student at Delta College, reside in Bay County, and demonstrate financial need. Application deadline is March 16, 2010.

KFC Colonel's Scholars Program

Up to $5000 per year. Must be a graduating senior, have a minimum GPA of 2.75 or higher, plan to enroll in a public, in-state college or university in fall 2010, be a US citizen or permanent resident, and plan to pursue a bachelor's degree. Students may complete an online application at www.kfcscholars.org from December 1, 2009 through February 10, 2010.

Ronald McDonald House U. S. Scholarship Program

$1000 awards. Must have a minimum 2.7 cumulative GPA and plan to attend a 2- or 4- year college, university or vocational school. Go to www.rmhc.org to apply. Application deadline is February 16, 2010.

AAA Michigan School Safety Patrol

$1000 awards. Must show documented proof of AAA Michigan School Safety Patrol participation, good academic standing and a strong record of involvement in extra curricular and/or community activities. Application deadline is April 16, 2010

Betaseed Scholarship Program

$500 award. One of applicant's parents or grandparents must be a member of the Michigan Sugar Company and must write a 300 word essay on a topic related to the sugar industry. Application deadline is February 28, 2010.

Ferris State University

Various scholarships and various awards. Application deadline is May 1, 2010

Charitable Foundation of Maier & Associates Financial Group

$1000 award. Must be a graduate of a Bay, Midland or Saginaw County high school, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00 and plan to be a full time student in a Michigan college. Preference will be given to students who are actively involved in their school/community and whose GPA is 2.00 to 3.5. Application deadline is March 5, 2010.

Bay Area Community Foundation

Over 75 scholarships. Must be a graduating senior and live in Bay County. Apply on-line at www.bayfoundation.org If a student does not have internet access call Renee Courier at 989-893-4438. Application deadline is March 1, 2010.

Rosa Parks Scholarship Foundation

$2000 award. Must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher and plan to attend college/university in Fall 2010. Winners selected on the basis of leadership, financial need, and dedication to the civil rights principles of Rosa L. Parks. Application deadline is March 1, 2010

Covenant Healthcare Foundation

Six scholarships totaling $12,000. Must be a senior pursing a degree in the human medical sciences field or directly related to the healthcare industry, currently attending a Saginaw, Bay, Midland or Arenac County High School, and have a minimum GPA of 3.75. Application deadline is March 8, 2010.

Abundant Life Church

$300 award. Must be a high school senior planning to pursue a course of education in college or specialty education, have a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA, be active in church and in community service. Application deadline is March 31, 2010.

Bay City Morning Rotary Club

Ten $500 scholarships. Must attend a Bay County High School, and plan to attend a 2- or 4- year accredited college in the U.S. Application deadline is March 26, 2010.

Scholar Athlete Milk Mustache of the Year Award

Twenty-five $7,500 awards. Must have participated in a sport. Application deadline is March 5, 2010.

Michigan State Alumni Club of Bay County

Award based on acceptance to MSU, financial need, leadership and volunteer activities, participation in extra-curricular activities, and scholastic achievement. Must be a student who will be attending Michigan State University in Fall 2009 for the 1st time. Application deadline is March 1, 2010.

Athletic Booster Club Scholarship

Must have attended Pinconning High School for 2 years, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher, and be involved in athletics. Application deadline is April 5, 2010.

Michigan State Troopers Assistance Fund

Twenty $1000 awards. Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher, and demonstrated leadership ability and service to community. Application deadline is April 1, 2010.

Ricka Beuthin Memorial Scholarship

$1000 scholarship. Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and be pursuing a business curriculum at an accredited college. Application deadline is March 5th, 2010.

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

All seniors planning to attend a college, university, or vocational school in 2009-10 need to submit the FAFSA. Go to www.fafsa.ed.gov to apply online. Michigan deadline is March 1, 2010.

Pinconning Education Association

Must be a Pinconning High School senior, plan to be a full-time student at a 2- or 4- year accredited Michigan college, have attended Pinconning Schools during grades 7-12, and have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher. Application deadline is March 19. 2010.

Michigan Blood Scholarship

Up to $500 award. Must plan to enroll in a college or technical school Fall of 2009 and complete a 250 word essay. Application deadline March 1, 2010.

Mayor's Scholarship Fund

Awards range from $250-$2000. Must reside in the Pinconning Area School district, be a graduating senior, and plan to attend full time at a college/university for Fall 2009. Application deadline is March 5, 2010.

Saginaw Valley Chapter of Materials Information Society

$500 or $1000 award. Must be a senior living in the Saginaw Valley area and be interested in Metallurgy, Materials Science and Engineering, or other engineering field. Application deadline is March 1, 2010

Michigan Masonic Charitable Foundation

Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher. Application deadline is February 20, 2010

Maple Leaf Golf Course Scholarship

One $500 award. Must be a 2010 graduating senior, have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, have completed 5 or more hours of community service, and plan to attend a college or trade school in the fall of 2010. Application deadline is April 23, 2010.

Bay Medical Foundation Nursing Scholarship

$500 award. Must be a graduating senior, have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher and be interested in a nursing career. Application deadline is March 15, 2010.

Arenac County 4-H Foundation Scholarship

$500 awards. Must be a graduating senior or college sophomore, have completed at least 3 years of Arenac County 4-H projects and plan to continue education after high school. Application deadline is March 31, 2010.

United Bay Community Credit Union

One $200 scholarship awarded to a Pinconning senior. Must plan to attend a post-secondary education institution and have a minimum cumulative GPA of a B- or better. UBCCU employees, board members and their immediate family members are not eligible. Application deadline is April 6, 2010.

Sunrise Family Credit Union

One $500, $1,000, and $1,500 award. Must be a member in good standing at Sunrise family Credit Union, be a graduating senior of a Bay or Arenac County High School, and be accepted at an accredited college/university or trade school. Application deadline is March 26, 2010.

Pinconning United Steelworkers of America

$500 award. Must be a senior who has attended Pinconning High School grades 9-12, have a 2.5 GPA or higher, and be involved in at least 1 extra-curricular activity. Application deadline is April 1, 2010.

Michigan Sugar Beet

$1,500 & $2,500 awards. Must be a graduating senior, be a resident of a county where sugar beets are grown, have participated in the Michigan Sugar Youth Sugarbeet program at one time and have completed a Sugarbeet project. Application deadline is April 21, 2010.
