Principal's Message

Dear Spartan Families:

I hope you are enjoying summer vacation. I also hope you are eager to get back to school to see old friends, meet new ones and move one step closer to achieving academic excellence.  My name is Mark Fuhrman and I am the Principal at Pinconning Middle School. I have been with the district for 9 years, most recently as the High School Assistant Principal.   I am replacing Mr. Wetters, who will be the Principal at Mt. Forest Elementary.  Our educational philosophy at Pinconning Middle School is simple; we are student centered and will provide students with the knowledge, skills and confidence to be successful at the high school level. This will be a great year! I look forward to meeting our new parents and working with our families that have established roots at Pinconning Middle School.

I am looking forward to seeing you when you attend one of the mandatory Middle School orientations on August 26, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. in the high school/middle school gymnasium.  The forms will be mailed and will appear on our website soon.  I would also invite you to visit our website for information regarding your student’s education.  We have programs, such as EdLine, which will allow you to monitor grades and attendance.  You will receive more information about this program at orientation. 

Middle school is a time of change. The work load and social adjustments are greater here than at the elementary level and the rigor we provide will allow for a smooth transition into the high school setting.  Our staff is prepared to help your child during these adjustments and to prepare him or her for High School and the Michigan Merit Curriculum.  Your child’s year will be exciting and filled with many opportunities. Your attendance at orientation will be the first step in a successful school year.

Also, I would like to welcome new staff members to Pinconning Middle School.  Scott Schemanski, Jason Penberthy and Kevin O’Laughlin will join our great teaching staff.  We will also welcome Danielle Hunt as the new Middle School Counselor.  I am excited about the addition of these fine individuals to our already great staff.
