Pinconning Central Elementary is an exciting school filled with the smiles of its staff and students through great learning opportunities. Our students are well behaved, cooperative, motivated and willing to learn. The entire teaching staff at Pinconning Central Elementary is "Highly Qualified", as defined by the "No Child Left Behind" Act, who are constantly striving to professionally enhance themselves in order to find ways to make school exciting which is relevant for the student they teach. Pinconning Central Elementary is a school where we believe parents are a valuable and essential resource within the education of the children. By teaming the parents and teachers combined efforts and knowledge we will continue to make our school productive and successful.

Pinconning Central Elementary offers a strong core curriculum to students in Young Five's through the Fifth Grade which includes: Mathematics, English-Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, Music and Physical Education. We also have on staff a certified Social Worker, a library media aide, Title 1 Para-Professionals, as well as, Special Education Teachers and certified Special Education Para-Professionals. Also, our young learners have technology integrated into the curriculum through the varied daily use of a 27 station computer lab, as well as, the use of e-readers (Nook) in the Fourth Grade and Fifth Grade integrating Mobile Learning Devices (MLD), and the structured reinforcement learning programs such as; Accelerated Math, Accelerated Reader, Study Island and Education City. Each classroom teacher uses a document camera with projection during daily instruction; with the ability to link to wireless internet building-wide through a laptop.

Parent(s) and caregiver(s) can support his/her child and the school by reinforcing the importance of education by playing an active role in their child's educational life. The supported efforts children make in school will very likely help set habits of work, study, organization, goal setting and lifelong success. One major responsibility children have at Pinconning Central Elementary is being a successful student. As parents and caregivers, please help us see that your child is successful by ensuring that they are prepared each day for school, so they may accept the challenges and responsibilities to become successful. One of the major factors in being prepared is having children arrive for school on time and completing the entire school day.

Pinconning Central Elementary has 13 staff members, who are trained in the methodology of "Great Expectations". Great Expectations is supported by up-to-date research and best practices to maximize learning and what are the proven guidelines for personal conduct and interaction with peers at school, on the job, and in the community. Ensuring we build your child with the successful attributes to become a successful member of the community.

Basic tenets of Great Expectations include establishing high expectations, building self-esteem, enabling all students and workers to be successful, ensuring a climate of mutual respect and polishing leadership attitude, knowledge, and skills.

Pinconning Central Elementary has received recognition from the Michigan Department of Education as a school of "Beating the Odds" during the 2009-2010, and 2010-2011 school years. We are one out of one hundred twenty-three schools who received this honor by out performing schools with similar risk factors and demographic composition. "Beating the Odds" schools are credited through various factors for their success including strong building leadership; common vision; highly qualified and dedicated staff; high academic and behavioral expectations; a collaborative school culture; commitment to technology; strong community and parent involvement; and staff commitment to do whatever it takes to help students succeed.

Through combined efforts of our excellent staff and supportive parents, Pinconning Central Elementary will continue to provide a positive educational experience for all of its students.
