Pinconning High School is proud to recognize Chloe Drouse for earning first place at the HOSA (Future Health Care Professionals) State Competition held in Traverse City. Competing in the Patient Care Technician division, Chloe demonstrated exceptional knowledge and hands-on skills against some of the top students in the state.
Chloe’s achievement builds on her strong performance at the regional level, where she also earned first place out of eight competitors. At the state competition, she rose to the top of a highly competitive field of approximately 40–50 participants.
The competition included a rigorous written exam along with two hands-on simulations conducted in a nursing lab setting. Chloe’s success reflects both her academic preparation and her ability to apply her skills in real-world healthcare scenarios.
Through her Career Center program, Chloe has already earned her Patient Care Technician certification, which qualifies her to work in hospital settings. This accomplishment highlights her dedication to pursuing a career in the healthcare field.
When asked about her preparation for the competition, Chloe shared, “Our curriculum at the Career Center throughout the year has taught us what we needed for this competition.”
With her state championship performance, Chloe has qualified for the national HOSA competition. She will receive a rubric outlining the skills required at the next level and will travel to Indianapolis from June 16–22 to compete against top students from across the country.
Congratulations to Chloe on this outstanding achievement, and best of luck as she represents Pinconning at the national level!
