Boy Feeding a Pony

Students at Pinconning GSRP recently enjoyed a special visit from Serenity Equine Facility, featuring a very friendly guest—Teddy the Pony!

Teddy, a 6-year-old pony, quickly won over the hearts of students as he calmly interacted with the group and soaked up all the attention. During the visit, students participated in an engaging, hands-on lesson about horse care. They learned about a variety of grooming tools, including the curry brush, hard brush, soft brush, hair brush, and hoof pick, along with each tool’s specific purpose.

The learning didn’t stop there. Students were also introduced to different parts of a horse and discovered fun facts about Teddy and horses in general. One of the most surprising lessons was that horses typically sleep only about two hours a day—and can do so either standing up or lying down!

The experience was both educational and memorable, as each student had the opportunity to brush Teddy and even feed him a treat.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to Kennedy, and Teddy the Pony for providing such a meaningful experience. Kennedy, who owns Serenity Equine Facility, offers a variety of horse and pony programs, including riding lessons and camps. Her kindness and expertise made the visit truly special for everyone involved. 🐴😊
