Pinconning Central Elementary

Delta College Public Radio selected Pinconning Central Elementary School as part of our 14 schools that will receive books yearly for being part of our Raising Readers Outreach Campaign. A total of 175 PBS Kids books were donated for students in grades K-2. For the past four years, Delta College Public Radio has partnered with area schools to provide students with age-appropriate books to read over the summer. “Children who participate in summer reading increase their reading skills, motivation, and confidence. Reading expands a child's vocabulary and improves their comprehension ability” says Lauren Saj, Station Engagement Coordinator. Community outreach is an important part of Delta College Public Radio’s mission and they strive to make sure students become stronger readers.
